Student International Volunteers

What is “Student International Volunteers”?

Student International Volunteers will play an important role in international exchange activities at YNU. Members will be issued with a letter of commission and a name tag from the Executive Director (International Affairs). A certificate of engagement will also be issued for those who have taken part in certain amount of activities.

If you are interested in international exchange or looking for opportunities to make use of your (language or any other) skills, or if you are already engaged in international activities and in need of support from university, please register for the Student International Volunteers!

What does Student International Volunteers do?

Activities of Student International Volunteers include the following:

  • Interpretation, campus tour guide, participation to exchange meetings, and courtesy pick-up and drop-off when we have guests (students/ researchers) from abroad
  • Preparation, translation or proofreading of articles for publication in the university bulletins and websites
  • Organization of and participation to university events (e.g. YNU Open Day, parties and study trips for international students, and Japan Study Abroad Fairs)
  • Any other activities proposed by the supporters themselves

How can I be a Student International Volunteer?

Eligibility
YNU students who are capable of communicating (or at least willing to communicate) in Japanese and some other language(s), and are interested in international exchange and university management are eligible for the supporters.
