Phone: 045-339-3036 - How can I become a Visiting Research Fellow at YNU?
- To become a Visiting Research Fellow at YNU, one should be accepted for an international fellowship sponsored by institutions such as Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), The Japan Foundation, Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO), or other foreign government or organization. Besides this framework, the university will select candidates, who are considered to have high potential in promoting international research and education exchanges at YNU.
The final decision for accepting a Visiting Research Fellow is taken by the Dean of the host faculty with the mediating assistance of the host researcher. While the period of acceptance is principally between one month and one year, it can be extended when considered necessary.Contact

- Eligible for admission to Ooka International Residence are all international researchers (including their family members) who are engaged in research or education activities at YNU. Reservations, which can be arranged by contacting the host researcher in advance, are accepted from one year prior to the day (two months prior for less than two weeks of stay) you want to move in.
The period of residency is within one year.Contact

- I was navigating on the Yokohama National University web site and I read something about the Japan-IMF Scholarship Program for Asia. But I was wondering if a Mexican student could be studying that program, because I noticed that all the students are from Asia, and I am very interested in that program. Actually I want to know everything about the Master, how can I apply, the admission requirements, all the assignments, and the scholarships.
- We would like to add some more information on the graduate school of YNU . The International Graduate School of Social Sciences(IGSS) offers several Master's courses conducted in English. These courses are special joint scholarship programs with World Bank, IMF or Japan International Cooperation. Each program has its own purpose and application procedure, As we have no knowledge about your academic history and working experience, we cannot tell whether you will fulfill the requirement. If you would like to apply for the usual Master's program, you need to take the entrance examination of each department of IGSS in September or October.
