Safety Precautions While Traveling and Residing Overseas

Please refer to the following guidelines in order to ensure your safety when travelling (including the sightseeing tour) to the foreign countries.

  1. Please keep in mind that your attitude and readiness is essential in order to protect yourself from potential risks while travelling or staying abroad.
    In addition, please refer to the “Alert Information” (spot / area danger information) available on Overseas Safety website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan which provides comprehensive risk assessment information and make sure to gather information on the global and your destination country regional security and safety situation every day and pay enough attention in order to protect yourself from getting involved into an accident in a foreign country.
  2. Acquisition of the information about the overseas infectious disease situation
    It is essential to gather enough information on various infectious diseases including new influenza, bird flu and other diseases in advance prior to departure.
    The Quarantine Station of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare and Ministry of Foreign Affairs offer overseas security information on their websites.
    In addition, the quarantine stations at the airports distribute leaflets and offer relevant information. Having gathered wide knowledge from a variety of sources beforehand, please pay attention to implement proper hygiene measures and eating habits during your travel and at the destination.
  3. When going abroad before your departure please make sure to inform your relatives, friends as well as respective student affairs section of essential information concerning your travel plans such as travel itinerary and contact information at the destination, to assure quick response to your safety in case or any accident.

  4. In the event of any disaster occurred in the city (country) of your stay, please contact your family, friends and respective student affairs section of the university immediately with an update on your safety status.
