The Yokohama National University 60th Anniversary Commemorative Ceremony, Commemorative Lecture and Commemorative Reception took place on November 8, 2009. The guests included Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) Deputy Director General Shinjiro Komatsu, representatives from nearby universities, and local governments and communities offices, YNU professors emeritus, and members of the alumni association.

A total of some 130 people including Participants from the university included faculty, and staff, trustees, and board members. A total of about 130 people attended the ceremony.
