Engineering Grad Student Gets "Honorable Mention"

First-year Master's students Hayato Sano and Kyohei Sato of the Graduate School of Engineering (academic advisor: Associate Professor Koji Takahashi) received "Honorable Mention" in a student paper contest (undergraduate & master's category) at the ASME 2010 Pressure Vessels & Piping Conference held in Seattle July 18 – 22, 2010.

The honored paper by Mr. Sato is entitled "Influences of Inner Pressure and Overload on Low Cycle Fatigue Behaviors of Elbow Pipes with Local Wall Thinning" and one by Mr. Sano is entitled "Prevention Of Stress Corrosion Cracking Of SUS304 By Tensile Overload." Both received the award on the merit of the strength of their theses and their ability of presentation that was recognized by the judges.
