Chief of Taipei Representative Office in Yokohama Visited YNU

On Monday of March 10th, 2014, Mr. Nian Xinshi, Chief of Taipei Representative Office in Yokohama (That is, Yokohama Branch of Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office (TECRO) in Japan) made a courtesy visit to YNU.

TECRO in Japan is the diplomatic window of Taiwan. It acts as the embassy of Taiwan actually even though it has been oranized as a private sector. The current Taipei Representative Office in Yokohama was established in 1979.

At the President's Office, President SUZUKI Kunio, Vice-President YAMADA Hitoshi, and International Office Manager Ms. ITO Yoko welcomed the delegates.
The meeting started in a warm atmosphere. President Suzuki made explanations on YNU campus, its history and etc. with PowerPoint. Introductions on YNU were given as a file of presentation which also included photos of the alumni reunion held at Taiwan in 2012, to which President Suzuki attended. Results of student exchange programs between universities in Taiwan and YNU were also introduced, which had been actively and frequently performed through such programs organized by JASSO (Japan Student Services Organization, Independent Administrative Institution), to result in the really livening up discussions. Chief Nian himself has experiences on study in Japan and talked with them in a proactive manner.

People attended agreed to facilitate cooperation and exchanges between Taiwan and YNU more in the future.
