On Monday, October 27th, 2014, Professor Douglus MacFarlane, Monash University (Australia) and Professor Gordon Wallace, University of Wollongong (Australia) visited YNU.

Faculty of Engineering, Monash University and Faculty of Engineering, YNU have reached to an agreement on academic and research collaboration for years and so do Faculty of Science, Monash University and Faculty of Environment and Information Sciences, YNU, to have had academic exchanges mainly in the aspect of research. Professor MacFarlane visited YNU to sign a memorandum for renewal of those agreements and Professor Wallace as the representative professor, according to YNU participation to Australia COE: Electromaterials Science (ACES), as one of the collaborated overseas universities.

The two professors finished the signing ceremony for the agreement and the meeting on participation to ACES conducted at the Administration Building of Science and Engineering, and then attended the courtesy visit at the President’s Office. There President SUZUKI Kunio welcomed them along with Executive Director and Vice President KOKUBUN Yasuo. Dean of Faculty of Engineering Professor KAWAMURA Atsuo, Faculty of Engineering Professor WATANABE Masayoshi, and Faculty of Engineering Research Associate KOKUBO Hisashi also attended. Renewal of the agreements was reported and gratitude to succession of collaboration was expressed from the both at the meeting. Promotion of collaboration in the advanced research areas was introduced and opinions were exchanged about them.
