Sakura Science Plan “Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Technology in Architecture and Urban Development” Participants Visited YNU

Faculty of Urban Innovation, Yokohama National University, received support by JST (Japan Science and Technology Agency) to accept 7 people from Sichuan University, China, and 5 people from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University for “Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Technology in Architecture and Urban Development” program in “Sakura Science Plan”, or Japan-Asia Youth Exchange Program in Science, with the period of August 2nd (Sun) – 8th (Sat), and to receive a courtesy visit to President Yuichi Hasebe on August 3rd (Mon).
President Hasebe, Dean of Faculty of Urban Innovation Professor Satoru Sadohara, Faculty of Urban Innovation Professor Akira Tasai, Information Technology Service Center Professor Haoyuan Xu, and International Office Manager Ms. Yoko Ito welcomed the people at Meeting Room 2, Administration Bureau. The welcome address was given by President Hasebe first, to encourage them to know and study many kinds of technologies of disaster prevention and mitigation in architecture and urban development in Japan to lead the program success. Sichuan University Associate Professor Haixin Xu and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Associate Professor Yuhong Wang followed individually by giving an address of thanks for the invitation. Then the student participants from the two universities made self introduction each. At the end, the host university and the visiting universities exchanged mementos and took commemorative photos with all, to close the courtesy visit in a friendly atmosphere.
