YNU participated in ‘Study in Japan Fair’ in South Korea

YNU participated in ‘Study in Japan Fair 2015’ organized by Japan Student Service Organization (JASSO) in Busan(BEXCO) on Sep. 12, 2015, and in Seoul(SETEC) on Sep. 13, 2015. Faculty of International Social Sciences Professor Daniel Heller, and Engineering Science Administration Department Section Chief Kozo Okuda attended at the booths. As a interpreter, two YNU students helped the YNU staffs, an YNU junior of College of Economics in Busan, and an YNU sophomore of College of Engineering Science in Seoul.

The number of visitors totaled 1670 in Busan, and 2580 visitors came to the fair in Seoul. About 120 students visited YNU booth in Busan, while about 230 students visited our booth in Seoul.

An overwhelming number of students who visited YNU booths are hoping to enter its colleges. They are high school students, junior high school students, and their parents, eagerly asking questions about an entrance exam, scholarships, dormitories, curriculums, and more. As our booths were filled with visitors, and many of whom were forming a long queue, the YNU staffs were working all day without a break.
Moreover, students who currently go to colleges in South Korea expressed their hopes to enter Graduate Schools of YNU, or to transfer to YNU’s colleges, or to apply for exchange programs. This gave us an impression that Korean students were very interested in studying in Japan.
Although some of the high school students who came to our booths said humbly, ‘I can speak Japanese a little bit.’, we were very impressed by their good command of Japanese.
