<Alert> Alert regarding terrorist attacks in Paris, France

On Nov. 14, 2015, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan issued an alert in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Paris, France.
About 10 pm on Nov. 13th (local time), shootings occurred across several locations in Paris, including the 10th, and the 11th districts.
In northern Paris, multiple explosives were detonated at Stade De France (French National Stadium) when a friendly soccer match between France and Germany was going on.
According to news reports, more than 100 people were killed by the series of the attacks.

Following the French President Hollande’s declaration of a state of emergency across France at a press conference, the French foreign ministry has strengthened security along the national borders such as land routes, airports, railroads, and by sea.

YNU strongly encourages faculty, and students of YNU who are planning to travel, and stay in France to obtain the latest related information to stay out of terrorist attacks, and any contingency, as well as having access to the latest information including from the websites of Embassy of Japan in France, Consulate-General of Japan in Strasbourg, Consulate-General of Japan in Marseille, and Consular Office of Japan in Lyon.

In particular, if you are traveling to, or staying in the Ile de France region, YNU strongly urges you to refrain from unnecessary outings, to stay out of the crime scenes, and to avoid vulnerable areas for a terrorist attack as much as possible (government, military, and security related facilities, public transportation, tourist destinations, public spaces such as department stores, and markets.) If you need to visit those places, please pay the utmost attention to your surroundings. In case you sense any suspicious situations, please leave the area immediately to protect your security.
