On October 6th Friday, 2017, Director Chaoyen Chen from Physical Education Center, Professor Yinchu Tseng from Physical Education Center, M.D. of Anesthesia Kuangi Cheng from School of Medicine, Ms. Chingning Wu (Mrs. Cheng), Associate professor Yita Chuang from Physical Education Center, Assistant professor Chinghui Hsu from Physical Education Center, College of Medicine, Kaohsiung Medical University, Taiwan visited YNU.

The visitors were welcomed by Executive Director and Vice President Fumihiko Nakamura, Prof. Emeritus Toshio Chomabayashi, Prof. Hideto Tanaka and Prof. Toshikazu Ikeda from College of Education, International Office Manager Tomoko Takeuchi, and a graduate student from Taiwan of Prof. Tanaka’s lab as a translator.

The meeting started with welcome speech and introduction of YNU from Executive Director and Vice President Nakamura, followed by a greeting by Director Chen. Activities such as exchanges through tennis between YNU students and students of College of Medicine, Kaohsiung Medical University and the lecture held by Prof. Tanaka for the graduate students at College of Medicine, Kaohsiung Medical University were introduced by Director Chen. And also, related to the field of urban transportation, which is the special field of Prof. Nakamura, the topic of the Circular Line (Kaohsiung MRT, light rail) was brought to the conversation, and the meeting went with a relaxing atmosphere from beginning to end.

Kaohsiung Medical University is a university with a medical department, and in 2016 the College of Education Human Sciences, YNU has concluded an agreement with College of Medicine, Kaohsiung Medical University. Although YNU does not have a medical college, it was introduced that there are faculties who specialize in medical devices and robots in the field of engineering, and the possibility of collaborative research was discussed. In the future, it was promised that both universities will set up opportunities for workshops and introduction of research to each other, and further deepen mutual understanding and relations between the two universities.

Through this visit, the further development of exchanges with College of Medicine, Kaohsiung Medical University is expected.
