UD-YNU International Branch hosted a special intensive lecture at the University of Da Nang, University of Science and Technology

From September 24th (Mon), 2018 to 28th (Fri), a special lecture for the University of Da Nang hosted by UD-YNU International Branch, Workshop – Computer Aided Engineering “Verification and Validation” – was conducted. From YNU, Prof. Shoichi Hirosawa and Assoc. Prof. Tomoyuki Shimono from the Faculty of Engineering and Assoc. Prof. Kazumi Matsui from the Faculty of Environment and Information Sciences visited and taught the lectures for 5 days for approximately 60 undergraduate students from Mechanical Engineering, Transportation Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electronic and Telecommunications department of the University of Da Nang, University of Science and Technology.

The classes conducted by Assoc. Prof. Matsui were about V & V (Verification & Validation), which is a guideline for engineering simulation to operate appropriately, in a workshop style including practical training, lectures, experiments and simulation software.

The classes conducted by Assoc. Prof. Shimono were about robotic experiment, in a workshop style including trajectory planning, obstacle detection by a supersonic sensor, and object recognition by a camera.

In addition, four graduate students from the Graduate School of Engineering and the Graduate School of Environment and Information Sciences, YNU, supported the class as the lecturer.

In the questionnaire of the students participated in this lecture, there were wishes to continue the class in the next year and also the high evaluation towards lively lessons.
This lecture was the second trial event that UD-YNU International Branch hosted, and on the basis of above favorable voices from students and faculties of the University of Da Nang, UD-YNU International Branch with the coordination of Dr. Le Anh Tuan, the branch manager, plans to expand the special intensive lecture held by YNU faculty members.

Through this special lecture, the further development of exchanges in educational and research activities with the University of Da Nang is expected.
