On October 12th (Wed.), 2011, the University of Nairobi President George Magoha and Department of Geography and Environmental Studies Dean Samuel Owuor made a courtesy visit to President Kunio Suzuki. The International Graduate School of Social Sciences Professors Tatsuhiko Ikeda and Osamu Koike also joined the meeting. The five shared their ideas and thoughts regarding further enhancement of academic and research exchanges between the two universities.

In the afternoon, Dr. Samuel Owuor delivered a special lecture titled "Urban Poverty and Governance in Africa" as IGSSS Public Seminar at YNU Media Hall, and lively exchanged the views with YNU students.
