Tokyo Metropolis Study Tour for International Students

On February 14, 2013, twenty international students went to central Tokyo on a field trip. They visited Edo-Tokyo Museum and took Sumida River Cruising in the morning and visited NHK Studio Park in the afternoon. They also had a chance to look the Diet Building and Niju-bashi Bridge of the Imperial Palace through bus windows on their way to Edo-Tokyo Museum.

Edo-Tokyo Museum exhibits 400-year-history and culture of Edo-Tokyo area in a very well organized and attractive manner. Students were all observing the displays eagerly. After visiting the museum, they experienced Sumida River Cruise from Asakusa to Hinode Pier and enjoyed the sight of Tokyo Sky Tree, the world tallest broadcasting tower with 634m in height.

After lunch, they visited NHK Studio Park and learnt about the latest technology and various broadcasting programs through such exhibitions and events as behind-the-scenes of producing programs and screening images with latest techniques.

Being able to directly experience Japanese history, culture and broadcasting techniques, the trip was a fruitful experience for international students.
