The atmosphere of the party

For the purpose of cultivating mutual friendship between YNU foreign researchers and YNU faculties, YNU held the “2007 President’s Banquet for Visiting Research Fellows” hosted by President Iida on July 26th (Thu).
The party, which began with the welcome speech by President Iida, gathered 68 participants including 29 foreign guests from 14 countries coming from Asia, Africa, America, and Europe. With such variety of international backgrounds from participating guests, they were able to have a warm chats and deepen friendship with YNU faculties and other participating guests. Also, there was an opportunity for the guests to represent themselves by giving a speech, introducing their research activities with Yokohama National University, expressing their thoughts on their life in Japan, and giving words of gratitude to their host researchers.
While YNU accepts many foreign researchers every year with rare chances to interact in the campus, this has been a meaningful moment for them to gather, exchange information and make friendship with each other.
