Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) visits YNU

On Nov 20th (Tue.), Vice-Chancellor and Prof. Dato’ Dzulkifli Abdul Razak and Dr. Zainal Abidin Sanusi of Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) visited YNU. Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) has three campuses with the main campus located in Penang Island of western Malaysia and with more than 35,000 students enrolled, the university has 22 courses in the fields of technology, liberal arts, pure science and health science. One of the University’s main features is its beautiful garden-styled campus called “The University in a Garden” showing its motto of emphasizing on the harmony with the nature. The YNU International Graduate School of Social Sciences has been collaborating with USM since Yokohama City and the State of Penang has been designated as the regional base for the “Education for Sustainable Development” lead by the United Nation University.
For the visit to Executive Director Prof. Nagashima, Prof. Osamu Koike and Prof. Toshiyuki Tanaka of the International Graduate School of Social Sciences accompanied, and following the introduction of both universities from two sides, Prof. Koike gave a presentation about the recent activities on the collaboration program. YNU intends to conclude an academic exchange agreement with USM in coming days, and more active exchange is expected to have in the future.
