World Bank Scholarship

YNU accepts master students under the following scholarship programs sponsored and organized by World Bank.

Public Policy and Taxation (PPT)

This program was established in 1996 with the receipt of a grant from a special scholarship program funded by the Japanese Government for government officers from developing countries of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (World Bank). The program is mainly for public servants working in the area of taxation in developing countries. It aims to give them the opportunity to explore ways of improving public policies and taxation systems in their own countries by (i) acquiring fundamental knowledge of public policies and taxation, (ii) gaining practical knowledge and experience in Japan’s taxation administration system and (iii) undertaking comparative studies with developed nations.

Infrastructure Management (IMP)

This program was established in 1995 with the receipt of a grant from a special scholarship program funded by the Japanese Government for government officers from developing countries of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (World Bank). The program examines approaches to infrastructure management at all levels from the planning of infrastructure to its construction and operation while bearing in mind the welfare of the local population and preservation of the environment. A new cohort has begun in October 2016 at the Graduate School of Urban Innovation.
