Traffic on campus

Please observe traffic rules, regulations, and manners when using automobiles, motorcycles, bicycles, etc., both on and off campus. Since there are many traffic accidents both on and off campus, each of you should obey traffic rules, make efforts for traffic safety, and always keep in mind to avoid or cause traffic accidents by encouraging safe driving. In addition, please do not ride bicycles on unauthorized sidewalks, as this can cause accidents.
To ensure traffic safety and a quiet educational and research environment on campus, cars and motorcycles are restricted from entering the premises 24 hours a day. Motorcycles are not allowed to enter or park on the campus except in the motorcycle parking lot.

Commuting by Motorcycle

Riding a motorcycle to school increases the likelihood of traffic accidents, so please refrain from doing so whenever possible.

Parking of cars, motorcycles, bicycles, etc.

Parking on the street or parking illegally, whether on or off campus, is a nuisance to people using the streets and a major impediment to traffic, so please do not do it. In particular, please do not park or park bicycles on the roads around the university that are used by nearby residents. Please be sure to park cars, motorcycles, bicycles, etc. in designated parking spaces and bicycle parking areas on campus. The University implements tire locks for vehicles that violate parking regulations.
Since parking spaces at the University are limited, please do not leave your car parked for days at a time and take your bike home each time you have finished your University business, so that you can use the space efficiently. Even if you park your bicycle in a designated parking space or bicycle parking lot, the University may remove and dispose of your bicycle if it is left parked for a number of days. (The University Co-op also accepts bikes that are no longer needed for disposal.)
