Non-regular Student Programs

Outline

The following system is adopted for research students (kenkyusei), accredited auditors (kamokuto rishusei), and auditors (chokosei).

Research students (kenkyusei): Students applying for specific and specialized research at YNU may be accepted after a screening process if there is no interference with education and research at the relevant undergraduate college or graduate school.

Accredited auditors (kamokuto rishusei): Students applying to register for a course (or multiple courses) at a YNU undergraduate college or graduate school may be accepted after a screening process if there is no interference with education and research at the relevant undergraduate college or graduate school.

Auditors (chokosei): Students applying to participate in a specific course at a YNU undergraduate college or graduate school may be accepted after a screening process if there is no interference with education and research at the relevant undergraduate college or graduate school. (Auditors cannot receive credits.)

Application information

The application period, qualifications, etc. differ in each college / graduate school. Please check the application guidelines of appropriate college / graduate school listed below.

Please also note that it is rare for international students to become accredited auditors and auditors, as it is difficult to take enough number of classes (more than 10 hours per week) to obtain the status of residence as “Student”.

Submission of the Certificate of Health before Admission

If you are to enroll as a non-regular student (Research students/Accredited auditors/Auditors) in or after April 2020, you must take a health examination within 3 months prior to your enrollment to the university and submit the Certificate of Health (designated format).
