Restriction on Entering YNU Campus for Students

April 2, 2020 April 10, 2020
Yuichi Hasebe
President, Yokohama National University

Dear YNU Students and Faculty Members,

YNU will restrict students’ access to campus from Saturday, April 4 through Wednesday, May 6.

This is part of our efforts to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection, and until classes start on Thursday, May 7, we will keep students off campus in order to avoid viral transmission by the movement of people and close contacts between people in confined, crowded spaces.

Data show even relatively young people may become seriously ill, and therefore we ask students to refrain from activities that may increase the risk of infection and to stay at home particularly during the night unless there is any urgency.

In the following two cases, however, students may enter by obtaining our prior approval.
A.Application for scholarship or tuition waiver
After April 13, it is prohibited to enter the campus by reason A, which is an application for scholarship or tuition waiver. Please refer to the website below for the changes of application procedure in details. Only postal mail can be accepted.
