When your residence card is expired outside Japan, you need to apply for Certificate of Eligibility (CoE) to get a new student visa. YNU provides proxy application service for CoE for YNU students who cannot re-enter Japan before the expiration date of their residence card due to COVID-19.

1. How to apply
   Please apply by email using your YNU mail address.
   Send to; kokusai.shienynu.ac.jp
   Deadline: Wednesday, March 31, 2021
   Subject of the email should be “Proxy Application (your student ID number)”.
   Please send the following information (1-4) and attachments (a-e).
   
   
   1. Your student ID number
   2. Your name
   3. Reason why you need this service
   4. Your address, we will send Certificate of Eligibility to this address
   
   Attachments:
   a) Application for Certificate of Eligibility (For applicant)
   *Please submit as an Excel data. Hand writing is not acceptable.
   
   b) Copy of both sides of your residence card
   c) Copy of your YNU student ID card
   d) On-campus application form
   e)Photo data to paste on your Application for Certificate of Eligibility
   *The photo should be taken in 3 months.

2. Receiving of the CoE
   We will send your CoE by EMS to the address you wrote in the application email once we receive it from the Immigration Bureau.
