Signing Ceremony for Program Supporting University Collaboration toward University Education Enhancement

Following the adoption of the proposal “Project for Human Resource Development for Urban Design and Urban Culture centered on the Yokohama Culture Creation Urban School” submitted to the FY2009 Program for the Support of Strategic University Collaboration towards University Education Enhancement, a signing ceremony for the agreement on joint implementation of the Program for the Support of Strategic University Collaboration toward University Education Enhancement was held at YNU on September 15, 2009. With six other universities and the City of Yokohama, YNU will serve as the lead institution to advance the project.
The goals of the project are to establish a satellite school – the Yokohama Culture Creation Urban School – in central Yokohama, attract students who will bear responsibility for urban development in the future, fuse the networks and know-how that have been cultivated by each university, actively participate in the Creative City Yokohama initiative, and train personnel in the two fields of urban design and urban culture creation. The students who will study at the new school are expected to accumulate valuable practical experience.
