YNU Attended 2010 Japan Education Fairs in China

2010 Japan Education Fairs in China, sponsored by the Chinese Education Association for International Exchange (China Education Expo), took place in Beijing (Sat.-Sun., October 16-17) and in Shanghai (Sat.-Sun., October 23-24), for which YNU dispatched Professor Masami Kadokura (International Student Center) and Akane Aino(Faculty of Business Administration Staff) to Beijing and Lecturer Naoko Ueda (International Graduate School of Social Sciences) and Shoko Kunugi (Section Chief, International Student Center,Student Affairs Department) to Shanghai.

Altogether 35 countries were represented in universities and organizations in this Fair and from Japan, 33 and 37 institutions exhibited their booths in Beijing and Shanghai, respectively. In Beijing, 2,465 visitors came to Japanese booths, of whom over 150 stopped by YNU's booth on both days. In Shanghai, 1,812 visitors came to Japanese booths, of whom 130 stopped by YNU's booth on the first day and 60 on the second.

Most of the visitors were interested in enrolling as graduate students or research students and asked about a number of questions regarding the characteristics of each Graduate School, application requirements, selection criteria, life in Japan, scholarships and dormitories. Some of the visitors came having thoroughly researched about specializations, others started asking questions in fluent Japanese, indicating a high level of interest in going to a graduate school in Japan.
