On May 31st Thursday, 2018, Dr.Vimal Katiyar (Associate Professor, Coordinator, CoE-SusPol, Department of Chemical Engineering) from Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG) visited YNU.

The visitor was welcomed by Executive Director and Vice President Fumihiko Nakamura, Prof. Hideaki Yoshitake and Associate Prof. Kazuho Nakamura from Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Atsushi Suzuki from Faculty of Environment and Information Sciences, and International Office Manager Tomoko Takeuchi.

IITG was established in 1994 in the state of Assam, and it is the sixth member of Indian Institute of Technology which are national universities specialized in engineering and science technology.

In the meeting, Executive Director and Vice President Nakamura stated welcome greetings and an outline of YNU, then Dr. Vimal Katiyar explained about IITG’s partnership with Japanese universities such as Gifu University, Kyoto University and Kyoto Institute of Technology. He further mentioned about the Japan Fair in the symposium which will be held by IITG in October 2018.

Also, Dr.Vimal Katiyar told about student exchange with other Japanese universities on the basis of the flexible curriculum, and they exchanged opinions for a MOU with YNU in the future.

Through this visit, the further development of exchanges with Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG) is expected.
