YNU's Response to the Impact of COVID-19 in the Selection of Students Newly Enrolled in AY 2022

Yokohama National University (YNU) has adopted the following policy on the selection of new entrants in response to the impact of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Please note that this policy may be subject to change according to the situation of COVID-19 pandemic. For applications for entrance examinations, please check the latest information through the Application Guidelines for colleges/graduate schools or the University website.

【Infection prevention and health management】
Please make sure to pay attention to your health and take thorough measures to prevent infection by avoiding “3Cs” (crowded places, close-contact setting, and closed spaces), keeping a physical distance with others, wearing a face mask, and practicing good hand hygiene including washing hands. Please check your temperature in the morning, etc. about 7 days before the examination date and check for any changes in your physical condition. If you have symptoms such as fever or cough, please visit a medical institution.

【Wearing a mask】
On the day of the examination, please make sure that whether you have symptoms or not, you wear a non-woven face mask at all times, except while eating during lunch. For checking the photo identification of examinees, please follow the instructions given by examination proctors. If you do not have a non-woven mask, if your mask gets dirty or damaged, or if you are unable to wear a non-woven mask for some reason, please contact a staff member. All staff, including examination proctors, will wear non-woven masks.

【Responses to COVID-19 on the exam day】

・We may check your temperature at the entrance of the examination venue. If your temperature is higher than the set point, please follow the instructions of the staff.

【Responses to those feeling unwell】
・If you are infected with COVID-19 and have not been diagnosed as cured by a doctor by the examination date, you cannot take the examination. In such a case, the entrance examination fee will be refunded if requested.
・If you are identified as a close contact person with a COVID-19 infected person and have no symptoms such as fever or cough, please consult with us in advance. (See the contact information provided in the Application Guidelines.)
・If you feel unwell in the examination venue or room on the day of the examination, you may be allowed to take the examination in a separate room. Please follow the instructions given by the examination proctor.
