The Faculty of Education and Human Sciences was established in 1997 after a large-scale restructuring of the Faculty of Education. It is composed of the following four courses:

All courses are not exclusive, but rather complementary to one another. Thus they form a network whichmakes it possible for students to achieve high information literacy, acquire network skills of knowledge, and develop an understanding of environment and communities.
The aim of the Course of School Education is to produce educational leaders for compulsory education in the 21st century, and other courses intend to train students to acquire global perspectives in order to be well adapted to changes in the natural and social environment.
School Education Course
The main objective of this course is to provide future elementary school teachers with practical knowledge and essential skills necessary for coping with recent drastic changes in elementary school education. The School Education Course is composed of three Specializations: Human Development, School Subject Education, and Special Education for Handicapped Children.
Environmental Sciences Course
This course trains students to develop professional abilities to address environmental issues and problems and is taught by faculty members from various areas of Environmental Science such as chemistry, biology, energy, and earth sciences. Fieldwork activities are conducted frequently, making up one of the characteristics of the course.
Multimedia Studies Course
This course encompasses diversified range of fields related to multimedia from mathematics and linguistics, which are the foundations of today’s computer sciences, to cultural activities based on media technology such as theatrical plays and movies. Students are encouraged to create, produce, and perform their own works.
Social Network Globalization Course
This course encourages students to develop, test, analyze, and reformulate different views on and approaches to local and global issues, and enables them to coordinate effective changes in the challenging world of today. Through collaborative education of social sciences and humanities, students are expected to develop the understanding of local and global societies and cultures as well as an appreciation for their diversity and differences.
