YNU held ‘YNU Day at Dalian University of Technology (DUT)’
On Dec. 13 to 14, 2015, YNU held ‘YNU Day at Dalian University of Technology (DUT)’, Dalian, China.
This event takes place at DUT, with which YNU has an inter-university exchange agreement. Its purpose is to strengthen the cross-border network among students, alumni, and faculty between DUT and YNU through a key note speech, trial lectures, and seminars by YNU professors.
Although it was Sunday, many participants including students gathered at a key note speech, and
a session regarding the YNU’s entrance exams on the first day.
On the second day, YNU professors conducted trial lectures, and seminars. Seven trial lectures were being held simultaneously. A student who attended one of the lectures said that it was productive because he was able to understand the subject from a different perspective.
The following is a list of the professors, and the titles of their lectures.

Following the trial lectures, YNU professors and DUT faculty members jointly conducted seminars.
The first seminar titled ‘Infrastructure and disaster prevention’ was offered by two professors Hitoshi Yamada, Kazuo Konagai, and an associate professor Satoshi Komatsu from YNU’s Faculty of Urban Innovation followed by four DUT professors, Lin Gao, Kong Xianjing, Zhou Jing, Li Hongnan. The seminar turned out to be vigorous as quite a few students attended it.

Another seminar ‘Urban transportation, supply chain and logistics’ was presented by Vice-President and Executive Director of International Affairs Fumihiko Nakamura, Faculty of International Social Sciences Associate Professor Ying Sun, and Urban Innovation Associate Professor Shino Miura from YNU. Representing DUT, two professors, Zhao Shengchuan, and Liu Wanqiu concluded the seminar. As students were intently listening to each professor’s presentation, even some of whom held a discussion over the subject.

In addition to trial lectures, and seminars, YNU offered a session for its university’s entrance exams. YNU representatives answered questions from prospective international students, while providing them with related information.
With over 450 people participated, the 2 day event has definitely further strengthen the network among students, and faculty between DUT and YNU.
